The inaugural ABBW

So it’s been just over a couple of weeks now since the inaugural Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend (ABBW) came to a close and I for one, am still recovering. There was so much on offer during the weekend, so much information to take in and so many lovely people who were met.

Here’s a brief run down of the events that some of the beauty bloggers were treated to:

  • A pre-ABBW pampering and touch up session at Benefit’s Paddington boutique.
  • A sneak peek at the launch of famed make-up artist, Rae Morris’ range of brushes, which was put on by the lovely and immaculately presented folk at Sweat Betty PR.
  • The International Make-Up Artists Trade Show (IMATS) which had stalls and booths stocking all manner of beauty paraphernalia. On top of that the ABBW attendees were treated to a trés delicious feast by Royal & Langnickel, topped off with a very special gift.
  • Panel discussion and presentation on the do’s and don’ts of beauty blogging and dealing with PR’s and beauty brands, held by Beauty Directory and featuring Jackie Maxted and the gorgeous Beauty Directory staff, InStyle Beauty Editor Eleanor Pendleton and our very own Kimberley Nissen of The Plastic Diaries.
  • An amazing Beauty Blogger Gala Dinner held at Sydney’s The Establishment Ballroom by Maxted Thomas PR, featuring an array of beauty brands from Burt’s Bees to Nivea to Coty fragrances including Marc Jacobs and Balenciaga, just to name a few. Plus we were treated to a scrumptious three course dinner!
  • Alpha-H breakfast event, which aside from having great quiches, also involved a presentation on Alpha-H’s newest anti-aging range, the Liquid Gold Skin Perfecting System.
  • Face of Australia Master Class which provided beauty bloggers with all the tools and the know how to create some of Face of Australia’s key looks from their Look Book, ranging from the perfect winged eye to the best way to contour according to your face shape.
  • A presentation by the ABBW’s Key Note speaker, Bahar Etminan, who after working with some of the biggest beauty brands, has created her own website, RESCU, which features expert advice for a fabulous life.

As if all that wasn’t enough, each and every single ABBW attendee was generously given some hefty goodie bags laden with hair-styling tools, make-up brushes and mirrors and a countless number of beauty products.

Expect more in-depth reviews of the events themselves and the products below.
